Jesse had an exceedingly difficult time keeping a job. In fact, due to her sluggishness and lack of drive, she was unemployed far more regularly than she was gainfully employed. And when she did get a job, she had an extremely hard time getting to work in a timely manner, she commonly got less than optimal performance reviews, and she called off sick so habitually that she commonly got fired four or five weeks after she began working. To no one’s surprise, one of the results of Jesse’s less than stellar employment record was the fact that she was virtually without a dime most of the time.

Despite Jesse’s awful employment record and financial negligence, then again, in some way she made it a point to drink excessively on an everyday basis. Not surprisingly, her excessive and irresponsible drinking also resulted in a host of relationship and dating issues over the years.

Based on her hazardous and excessive drinking, it came as no big surprise when Jesse got a fifth DWI. When she went before the court, the magistrate clearly stated to Jesse that her alcohol-related actions was shameful and, consequently, he was going to sentence Jesse to spend eleven months in the county jail.

Time Behind Bars To Think About The Damaging Results of Hazardous and Abusive Drinking

During her time in the municipal jail, Jesse was expected to learn more about alcohol facts, about the adverse effects of abusive drinking, and she was required to get alcohol counseling. The magistrate emphasized the fact that unless Jesse gets professional alcohol counseling and learns how to live a life of abstinence, she will quite possibly be spending a considerable amount of time locked up.

Jesse articulated that she understood what the judge was proclaiming but she still proclaimed that placement in the municipal jail was not the most logical judgment. The magistrate saw things in an entirely different Manner and proclaimed that it was his professional job to keep alcohol addicted people off the streets who drive under the influence and who receive a DWI. Although Jesse knew that she drank in an irresponsible manner, she never believed that she was an individual who was addicted to alcohol. So it was a big surprise when Jesse began suffering from symptoms of alcohol withdrawal approximately eight hours after after getting locked up in the city jail.

To deal with her alcohol withdrawal symptoms in a safe and sound manner, Jesse was taken by ambulance to a rehab facility for alcohol detoxification and then returned to jail. While behind bars Jesse undertook a mental health evaluation for her depression and received alcohol rehab but since she received this therapy as something that was mandated for her, she was unsuccessful in taking ownership of her hazardous drinking.

When her time in the county jail was finished, the magistrate without faltering announced to Jesse that she would be under careful observation and would be required to take periodic alcohol tests.

After hearing how Jesse failed to take ownership of her drinking situation and how she halfheartedly followed the treatment regimen while in the county jail, the magistrate knew that it was essentially a matter of time before he would be seeing Jesse once again in court about her hazardous drinking behavior. As the magistrate thought about Jesse’s circumstance, he couldn’t help but think about how some individuals never use their brain and discover how to live in an adult and effective manner.
